Meteorology is a prime example of chaos theory: small changes in one part of the system can cause large, unpredictable changes elsewhere. This sensitivity limits long-term weather forecasting accuracy.

Ball lightning, a rare atmospheric electrical phenomenon, remains a mystery in meteorology. These luminous, spherical objects can occur during storms and last considerably longer than the split-second flash of a lightning bolt.

Meteorology has advanced with technology. From simple barometers to satellite imagery and Doppler radar, the tools used for atmospheric analysis are more accurate and sophisticated, aiding in more reliable weather predictions and hazard warnings.
